redsealWelcome to BCST 159 Digital Media Portfolio.

This course will be open October 30, 2017 – December 14, 2017. CRN# 77044

I’m Teri Ferrell, and I’ll be your instructor. This is an online class presented by the Broadcast Electronic Media Arts (BEMA) Department. We will be using Canvas, the CCSF learning management software.

You MUST claim your RAM ID to log in to Canvas. This can take a little time, so if you don’t already have your RAM ID,  please get started right away. Click here for directions on how to claim your ID, and log in to Canvas.

The class will be available on Canvas beginning October 30, 2017. You should receive an email at your City College of San Francisco email address when the class is open, but no matter what, please be sure to login as soon as the class is open.

There is no textbook for this class, but we will be accessing a number of online resources. In addition to online articles, I have included links to a few Lynda.com videos at the beginning of the class as an additional resource to help you as you create your first WordPress site.

Watching the videos is NOT REQUIRED, however they are very helpful. Lynda.com is a paid service, but you can get free access to the site if you have a VALID SAN FRANCISCO LIBRARY CARD! We’ll talk more about how to access this resource during the first week of class.

sfpl_logoPlease click here to visit the San Francisco Library for information on how you can get a library card. Other cities also have an agreement with Lynda.com, so if you do not live in SF, check with your local library.

Please feel free to contact me here or email me at tferrell@ccsf.edu if you have any questions. For more information about online classes go to the CCSF Online Learning Information Page.

See you in October!
